Whether you’ve been in a relationship for years or are just starting out, certain recurring issues or negative feelings might be holding you back. You may be planning for children, marriage, or other major life decisions, but these discussions seem to end in conflict.
Perhaps you’re already parents, facing disagreements on parenting, in-laws, or where to live, feeling like you’re not on the same page. You might even be attending alone, looking to explore your feelings independently and gain clarity about your relationship.
No matter your situation, you’ll be listened to, valued, and respected. Together, we will explore the concerns that brought you to counselling and determine the best approach for your unique needs collaboratively agree on the focus and frequency of sessions to suit your circumstances; and work on actionable steps between sessions, because real change happens when you approach things differently in everyday life.
In my sessions, there’s no blame or arguing – only clarity, understanding, and productive communication. You’ll leave with new ways of listening, speaking, and tackling challenges as a team.

Each session focuses on understanding what’s happening in your relationship and building practical tools for healthier communication and connection.
From your very first session, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, non-judgemental space where the focus is on you and your relationship. Time will be taken to understand what brought you in, explain how the counselling process works, and answer any questions you have. There’s no pressure to share everything at once - you’re encouraged to go at your own pace and feel comfortable as trust builds over time.
Counselling helps you explore patterns in how you relate, identify communication barriers, and deepen understanding of each other’s needs. Through guided dialogue and active listening techniques, you’ll practise expressing thoughts and feelings in ways that build connection rather than conflict. This stage is about gaining insight into recurring issues and learning practical skills you can use in your everyday life.
As you progress, sessions will focus on developing strategies that support healthy interaction, resolving conflict constructively, and strengthening emotional connection. This often includes collaboratively setting goals and applying tools that help you manage challenges outside of counselling. Over time, couples learn not just to survive difficult moments, but to communicate with confidence and clarity.

The Gottman Method supports couples to improve communication, manage conflict, and build connection, alongside ACT, CBT and SFBT.
As your couples therapist, I provide a safe space where you can express yourself without fear of conflict or being unheard. My role isn’t to give advice, but to guide you in new ways of listening, speaking, and resolving even difficult conversations peacefully, while embracing differences.
I work with couples as a team, focusing on guidance, education, and helping you apply the insights from our sessions to your real-life experiences. Couples often discover surprising new perspectives about themselves and each other, improving communication and connection.
With both lived and professional experience, I bring insight into relationship dynamics that many couples don’t realise. Highly educated and experienced across multiple professions and cultures, I connect easily with a broad audience. As a sociologist as well as a counsellor, I bring awareness of the social context behind relationship challenges. I’m also trained as a life, workplace, and executive coach, which often attracts high achievers seeking practical, insightful guidance.
Calm, supportive couples counselling for stronger relationships.
Counselling is a supportive, collaborative process where you and your counsellor explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a safe, confidential space. It helps you gain insight into relationship patterns, improve communication, and develop practical tools to address challenges and strengthen your connection.
Yes. We offer both in-person and secure Telehealth appointments so you can access compassionate, confidential counselling in the way that works best for you, whether from the comfort of your home or face-to-face in our clinic.
No referral or mental health plan is required to begin counselling. You can book your first session directly with the counsellor. If you have a GP referral for other allied health services, you’re welcome to share it, but it’s not necessary to access relationship counselling.
Yes, all counselling sessions are confidential. Your counsellor will protect your privacy and only share information if required by law (for example, if someone is at serious risk of harm). Anything you discuss remains between you and your counsellor unless you provide consent otherwise.
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and how deeply you want to explore issues. Some couples make meaningful changes after a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support. Progress depends on your engagement and what you’re working on, and your counsellor can help you set realistic expectations early in the process.
The Gottman Method, developed by Dr John Gottman and Dr Julie Schwartz Gottman, is a form of couples therapy that incorporates research spanning over four decades. The therapeutic approach aims to “disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
